Hey travelers, Old Greg here.
Pull up a chair—I've got news worth hearing. This week brings a fresh memory upgrade that's live right now, plus a look at what's coming soon: a real economy where gold matters, stolen goods have consequences, and the black market awaits. Let's dive in.
Your DM Knows Where You Are (Live Now!)
A new memory upgrade has just launched, focused on tracking locations and what's happened in them.
Now you'll see your main location, your specific position within it, and the time of day with every DM response. This was suggested by the community, and now it's part of the game. Your DM remembers where that trap was, which tavern you caused chaos in, and exactly where you stashed your loot.

Coming Soon: Gold Finally Means Something
One of your most requested features is almost here: gold tracking.
Soon, you won't be able to tell the DM you're as rich as Mansa Musa and have it believe you. Gold will have real value in the realm, replacing weapons and armor as quest rewards and serving as the currency for everything from potions to bribes.
All those weapons and armor cluttering your inventory? They'll have value too. Sell your unused equipment at merchants to pocket gold in a revamped trading experience.
And here's where it gets interesting: a new skill called Bartering will determine whether you walk away with a deal or get fleeced. Customized during character creation and improved through successful haggling, your Bartering skill will directly affect the prices you pay—and earn.
Black Market, Stolen Goods, and Heat
When you acquire goods through... let's say "creative" means, they'll soon be tracked as stolen goods.
Not all merchants will touch them. Some can be persuaded, bartered with, or intimidated—but at a cost. A new Heat value will track how much attention you've drawn from the authorities. The higher it climbs, the warier merchants become, and the harder guards look at you when you walk by.
But where there's risk, there's opportunity. Black Markets will be appearing across the realm. They'll be hard to find and harder to enter, but once inside, you'll discover rare goods and fences who'll take your stolen merchandise without raising your Heat.
Discord
The Tavern stays open even when you log off. Our Discord is where players share epic moments, form parties, and help shape what comes next for OGT.

May your dice roll high and your ale never run dry.
