Hey travelers, Old Greg here.

Major updates just hit Old Greg's Tavern this week. Whether you're new to the realm or a veteran player, these changes affect everyone.

Spellbook Update

Spells are now permanent. Until today, your magic disappeared after casting - no more. Successfully cast a spell once, and it's immortalized in your Spellbook forever.

We're expanding beyond the four original schools (Destruction, Alteration, Regeneration, and Necromancy) with three new additions: Bloodmancy, Illusion, and Soulbinding.

All spells start as Raw magic. Cast them successfully, and they become permanent fixtures in your arsenal. Turn enemy blood into eels, transform floors to ice, summon flamingo swarms - if you can imagine it, you can cast it. The realm's magic has no limits except your creativity.

Soul System

Soul powers all magic now. Every player has a Soul bar - it's the energy behind every spell, and every spell costs Soul to cast.

All living things carry Soul. The new Steal Soul spell lets you rip it from plants, animals, NPCs, even other players. But extraction has consequences - NPCs remember and react to Soul theft.

For those seeking a peaceful path, Elderwoods offer an alternative. Channel Soul at these ancient trees without violence or honor loss.

Death Echo

The realm just got deadlier. NPCs now attack in groups, unprovoked. Adventurers will die more often.

But death isn't final. Every player has Death Echo - a revival spell that brings you back at a terrible cost. You'll resurrect, but the spell drains Soul from everything nearby, potentially killing companions and destroying your honor.

The question isn't if you'll die - it's whether you can afford to come back.
