Hey travelers, Old Greg here.
Whether you're a fresh-faced adventurer still finding your footing or a battle-scarred veteran with dragon tales to tell - gather 'round. The update you've been waiting for is finally here: a living, breathing economy where every Crown counts, every trade matters, and every theft has consequences. Let's dive in.
Welcome to the Age of Crowns
The Economy has arrived! Every item—old and new—now has a value in Crowns and can be bought or sold with NPCs. Every NPC now trades, has their own inventory, and carries gold.
Apothecaries stock potions, blacksmiths carry weapons and armor, and Old Greg himself keeps ale on hand (plus the occasional mysterious quest item 👀). Higher-level NPCs? They've got the good stuff.
Your new Bartering skill lets you haggle NPCs down to better prices. But fail your check, and don't expect them to budge. NPCs can also pay you for odd jobs, and you can tip them for their services (like thanking Old Greg for being such a wonderful chap).

Note: Only newly created NPCs will have goods to trade initially.
Stealing & Black Markets
Don't want to pay? Fine—steal it. You can now lift items directly from NPC inventories.
But stolen goods come with a price. Every pilfered item is marked as "stolen," and reputable merchants won't touch them.
That's where Fences come in. These shadowy dealers operate in new Black Markets hidden throughout the realm. They'll take your hot goods—though at a discount. Of course, you can always try haggling them up if you're feeling bold.

Health and Soul Potions
Potions have arrived! Four quality tiers are now available: Diluted (+25%), Distilled (+50%), Concentrated (+75%), and Pure (+100%).
New players start with potions. Existing players can purchase them, loot them from NPCs, or steal them to stock up.
Find your potions in the Consumables tab of your inventory. Click "use" to consume them instantly (as long as you're not at full health or soul). Best part? Using a potion doesn't cost a round.

Shields, Hotkeys, & Czech/Hungarian Translations
Shields are now in the game! They occupy a one-handed slot and boost your AC like regular armor. You can only wield them with one-handed weapons, and they're available from armorers and blacksmiths across the realm.
Plus, we've added the first hotkeys to OGT:
Press 1-8 to select tabs in the Codex
Press 9 to open/close the Codex
Press spacebar to jump to the chat bar
As a cherry on top, both Czech and Hungarian are now fully supported languages. If your language isn’t supported and you’d like it to be, let us know and we’ll add it for you!

Discord
Hang out in the Tavern even when you’re not in the Tavern! Join our Discord to chat with other players about the game, find campaigns to join, or suggest what you want to see added next to OGT!
May your dice roll high and your ale never run dry.
Cheers,
Old Greg
